I supervise postgraduate students on their dissertation projects in a wide range of AI topics. However,
your project idea is more likely to catch my eye if it is in the field of computer vision and graphics,
with an aspect of 3D to it.
Beyond 3D scene modelling, I am interested in various generative and semantic understanding problems in visual computing, and
those at the intersection of visual computing
with other AI disciplines (e.g., NLP) and sensor modalities. If you are a master student at the Department of
Computer Science, University of Bath on one of our Online MSc Programmes (or a research-oriented motivated undergraduate on-campus student at the Department) and may be interested in doing a dissertation
under my guidance, feel free to get in touch to discuss your idea!
As the supervisor, I insist on aiming for publication-quality research soundness and academic rigour in postgraduate work. You may absolutely scope-limit your project and build
upon prior art, however your contribution must go beyond the mere survey or re-creation of what is already in existence in some, albeit small, way.
Further, in my view, experimental research projects generally lend themselves better for master dissertation work than
software development.
